How are you different than the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)?
As a non-governmental non-profit, we provide training and consulting in OSHA standards and other workplace safety standards. OSHA is a regulatory agency of the United States Department of Labor. It ensures safe working conditions by setting and enforcing standards.

Where does your funding come from?
Safety training is our primary source of funding. Other areas include membership, sales of program materials, conferences, consulting, grants and corporate sponsorships. All revenue goes back into the community through programs that support safety in the workplace, at home, and on the road.

Do I need to become an NSCNEC member to take your training courses?
No, it is not necessary to be a member to participate. However, members receive reduced training fees and benefits such as free resources, networking opportunities, and local support. To learn more about becoming a member, visit our member page.

How do I register for a course?
Under “Safety Training” in the main menu, select the course you wish to register for. You will see a list of course dates. Click on the date you are interested in and you will be directed to the registration page.

Do you offer online and virtual training?
You can find our online course offerings under “Online Training” . Many of our classes under “Safety Training” have virtual options; if a class has a virtual option, it will be indicated in the class description.

I need to take a defensive driving course for my state but I have questions. Where do I find info on your driving courses?

What if I need someone to review my company’s current safety program?
Our safety consultants can assess your company’s safety program against safety regulations and best practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and outline a path to implementing those improvements. To learn more, email us at info@nscnec.org

Will I get a certificate once I complete a course?
Our First Aid, CPR, Flagger, Defensive Driving, Lift Truck and all of our other programs include a certificate of completion.

How do I become an instructor for NSC courses?
Once you complete one of our instructor certification courses, you will be certified to teach that course. See our Instructor courses at https://www.nscnec.org/instructor-development

How long is my NSC instructor certification good for?
Your instructor certification is good for one year after you take the course. Renewal fees are due annually for flagger and defensive driving and every other year for first aid, CPR, and AED instructor certification.
